BPF Design Incorporated Mission Statement
Brian
P. Fredley, Associate AIA
|
We
are designers, but more so, we are problem solvers who take pride
in understanding the broad aspects of our profession.
We have experience in many firms and have observed the state of our
profession from many points of view. It is from this background that
we
form our aspirations to always improve the process and the quality of
our designs.
With communication, collaboration and
education we can achieve the
client’s comprehensive goals to build the appropriate building
within the
project’s budget restraints. This knowledge and the ability to bring
coherence and vision to a project is the closest we will come to performing magic.

| Knowledge: |
We
revel in what some designers often think of as the
mundane aspects of design; codes structure, mechanical
systems, construction methods, affects of cost,
specifications, etc… Without the ability to use that
knowledge creatively and resourcefully we are crippled
and add to the negative reputation of designers. |
| Acuity: |
The
identification of correct problem, with all its contingent
constraints, is the key to finding an elegant solution
characterized by an overall idea which accommodates
all factors involved. |
| Vision: |
On
another level there is vision; metaphor, image, symbol…
the catalyst that pushes buildings into the realm of
architecture. Without this there is no meaning, no poetry,
no legacy that contributes to society or helps to form an
enduring civilization. |
